How to Go Live on TikTok for Video Streaming?

Tutorials 03 Feb 2023

TikTok has become one of the top-watched social media apps worldwide because of its user-generated short videos. It became a pretty big hit due to its uniqueness when compared to other social media apps, and had a unique appeal for both young and older generations of people. The short 15-second videos were highly personalized and were set to music and other sound effects that are notable in the Tik Tok app. This made it easier for people from different locations to collaborate on the content and enable them to produce split-screen duet videos. You needn't be a professional to produce such videos and hence most average folks can try their hands at it.

Live Videos on Tik Tok

You can easily go live on TikTok if your age is 16 or above and you have got at least 1000 followers. It is pretty obvious that if you have a thousand followers then you stand a pretty good chance of increasing your viewership as you are more dedicated to the platform. You can go live on Tik Tok vide the plus button which creates a new TikTok. You must then actively engage with your viewers through comments.

When your engagement goes actively strong on the platform you can also make money out of it. It is also part of the TikTok community guidelines that if you are at least 18 years old then you are eligible to earn gift points. If you are younger than this you are not eligible.

However, you can't solicit gifts or offer incentives while live streaming as this too is part of the TikTok guidelines.

Going Live on TikTok

If you want to go live on TikTok you need to follow a few steps after you have become eligible for the same as per their community guidelines or criteria. Your first step will be to open your TikTok app and log in to your account. Your next step is to tap on the + sign which is located at the bottom center of the screen.

Next is to tap on the 'Live' button. This is located next to the icon 'option to record'. You then enter a suitable title for your live stream and then select 'Go Live' to start.

You may otherwise join someone else’s TikTok Live. Here too according to the app’s community guidelines you need a minimum of 1000 followers. You may then proceed to find the Live that you wish to join as your preference. For this to happen you need to go to the comments section and tap the button that appears like two figures. This will send your request to the other end and you may get a positive confirmation or a negative one.

Factors to Consider while Going Live

You need to have a space that has enough light while you are filming. You may use a ring light to make it more conspicuous to your followers. The audio should be of good quality so that there is no other background noise. This will give your audience to remain focused on your video.

It is noteworthy that if you distract your audience they may go for other live streams. Hence, getting their utmost attention is the most essential part of your live videos. Again, if you know at which time most audiences love to watch your films then introduce the new one during that time. This will also bring in a new audience.

Further, make sure to post a video regularly than leave enormous gaps such that viewers will cease to see your live shots. As per the advice from TikTok you should aim for a 30-minute slot so that you are judged by your audience as a professional.
